Almost all the big names move into the fifth round of the FA Cup, with Tottenham, Chelsea, Liverpool, and Arsenal winners. Manchester United failed to beat out Liverpool, losing on a late goal from Dirk Kuyt. Crawley Town is again the lowest ranked team to make it to the fifth round, this year up a division in League Two after a promotion from Conference, after taking out Championship side Hull City on the road. Newcastle United also suffered a big upset, falling to Championship team Brighton, while Sunderland was unable to beat Middlesbrough at home and now must travel for the replay.
